Saitama College of Welfare fosters professionals in the field of welfare for elderly care, social welfare, medical welfare, and child welfare. Students may pursue National Qualifications as a social welfare counselor. Social Welfare Worker Major: 3 Years Social Welfare Major, Psychiatric Social Worker Course Students choose specialized courses to become either Social Workers or Psychiatric Social Workers. There are 4 specialized courses: Care for Elders, Care for People with Disabilities, Medical Welfare, and Mental Health & Welfare. Child Welfare Worker Major: 3 Years Students study welfare and psychology to become child care workers, who can give proper counseling to children. Students choose from 4 seminars depending on their desired job. The 4 seminars are Nursery School/Kindergarten, Care for Children, Children with Disabilities, and Child Sports. Nursing Care Worker Major (Daytime Course): 2 Years Students will be Nationally Certified Care Workers upon graduation. Students work to become trained and well-prepared professionals through intensive practical training. * Students, who are enrolling as of the April 2011 school year, are required to pass the National Qualification Examination to be certified as a Care Worker, in compliance with recent amendments to the Law on Social Workers and Care Workers. Nursing Care Worker Major (Evening Course): 3 Years Students study extensively at night to become Nationally Qualified Care Workers after graduation. Career Design Communication Major: 1 Year Students can discover their dream job by taking various fields of　courses, such as health, welfare, beauty, and food. The Ohmiya campus is about 40 minutes by train from Tokyo. The area’s low prices and great atmosphere make it perfect for student life.
